Am 21. Juni öffnen wir die Alte Mühle Gömnigk für alle, die neugierig sind: Auf gemeinschaftliches Leben auf dem Land, auf uns als Gruppe, auf diesen Ort und die vielen Möglichkeiten, die er bietet. An diesem Tag kannst du uns kennenlernen, Fragen stellen, den Ort erkunden – und wenn du magst, auch über Nacht bleiben.
Wir sind eine vielfältige Gemeinschaft aus derzeit etwa 20 Erwachsenen und 12 Kindern und Jugendlichen zwischen 1 und 14 Jahren. Unser Alltag ist geprägt von individuellen Lebenswegen: Einige von uns sind angestellt, andere selbstständig, manche leben temporär mit Unterstützung vom Amt. Wir sind alleinerziehend, leben in kleinen Familien, in Partnerschaften oder als Einzelpersonen. Was uns verbindet, ist die Idee, diesen Ort gemeinsam zu gestalten – mit allem, was dazugehört: Verantwortung, Gestaltungslust, Baustellen, Rückzug und Austausch.
Aktuell sind zwei Plätze frei. Dafür suchen wir Menschen, die sich auf das Leben hier einlassen möchten – nicht als Zwischenlösung oder mit halbem Fuß anderswo. Es geht uns nicht nur ums „Wohnen“, sondern um Teilhabe, Beteiligung, Mitgestaltung.
Derzeit befinden wir uns in einer intensiven Bauphase: Das Wohnhaus wird umfassend umgebaut, Instandhaltung ist fester Bestandteil unseres Alltags. Gleichzeitig entstehen neue Projekte – und andere reifen seit Jahren.
Dazu gehören:
Wir engagieren uns regional gegen den gesellschaftlichen Rechtsruck, setzen uns ein für ökologische Bauweisen und Artenschutz und betreiben unsere Infrastruktur so ressourcenschonend wie möglich – auch wenn nicht immer alles ideal läuft. Perfekt sind wir nicht. Aber lebendig.
Unsere Ernährung bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen Bio, vegan und Tiefkühlpizza: Wir kaufen gemeinsam bio-vegetarisch/vegane Vorräte, gemeinsame Mahlzeiten sind vegan – aber im Alltag isst jede*r, wie es passt. Momentan gibt es keine regelmäßigen Küfa-Abende.
Auch sonst ist es mal lebendig und eng, mal ruhig und leer. Es gibt Bausamstage, gemeinsame Holzaktionen, Tanz im Späti – und Phasen, in denen alle mehr ihre Ruhe brauchen.
Was wir uns wünschen:
Wir suchen aktuell keine Familie mit Kindern, da die Kindergruppe bereits gut gefüllt ist und der Wohnraum im Haus begrenzt.
Aber: Das ist keine starre Grenze, sondern ein momentaner Fokus. Uns ist bewusst, dass das Leben vielfältiger ist als jede Kategorie – und wenn du dich angesprochen fühlst, melde dich trotzdem.
Wichtiger als dein Lebensmodell ist für uns deine Haltung:
Wir wünschen uns Menschen, die mit Eigeninitiative, Empathie und Pragmatismus kommen. Die bereit sind, sich auch selbst zu hinterfragen, Kritik anzunehmen – und dabei wohlwollend bleiben. Wir üben das hier alle noch. Gemeinschaft ist ein Prozess.

Looking for new community members! – Open House at the Alte Mühle on June 21
On June 21, we’re opening the doors of Alte Mühle Gömnigk to everyone curious about community life in the countryside, about who we are, and about the place and all its possibilities. You’re warmly invited to come visit, ask questions, explore the space – and if you like, even stay overnight.
We’re currently a diverse community of around 20 adults and 12 children and teens aged 1 to 14. Our daily lives are shaped by a wide range of paths: Some of us are employed, others self-employed, and some are temporarily supported by social services. We live in small families, as single parents, as couples, or alone. What connects us is the idea of shaping this place together – with everything that comes with it: Responsibility, creative drive, building sites, quiet moments, and exchange.
At the moment, we have two open spots. We're looking for people who want to really live here – not just temporarily, and not with one foot somewhere else. This is not just about "housing" – it’s about participating, getting involved, and co-creating.
Right now, we’re in the middle of a major construction phase: the main house is being renovated from the ground up, and maintenance is a big part of everyday life. At the same time, new projects are taking shape, and others have been growing for years.
These include:
We are actively involved in local antifascist and ecological work, try to build as ecologically and affordably as possible, and engage in animal and biodiversity protection.
We’re not perfect – but we’re trying things, and we’re alive.
Food-wise, we mostly eat organic – from vegan to meat-eating. Shared meals are vegan, and we buy vegan/vegetarian organic staples as a group. That said, there are no hard rules – sometimes we cook together, sometimes there’s just a frozen pizza from the supermarket.
And overall, life here fluctuates: sometimes it’s lively and crowded, other times it’s quiet and spacious. We have building Saturdays, firewood days, dance parties in the Späti – and periods where people just need space and rest.
What we’re looking for:
Right now, we’re not actively looking for another family with children, since our kids’ group is already large and indoor living space is limited.
But: This isn’t a hard line – just where we’re at currently. We’re aware that life doesn’t fit into neat categories. If you feel drawn to this place, please reach out anyway.
More important than your family status is your attitude:
We’re looking for people who come with initiative, empathy, and a healthy dose of pragmatism.
Who are open to self-reflection and feedback – and who strive to offer the same in return. We’re all learning. Community is a process.
